Aim and Scope

Recent social requests for new industry creation in the biotechnology field have been increasing rapidly. The Division of Bioscience and Biotechnology for Future Bioindustries was newly founded in order to meet these social needs by conducting frontier research directed to bioindustrial applications on the basis of microbiology, food science, bioorganic chemistry, genomics, and bioinformatics. This division also provides education and training to the students, allowing them to be expected as scientific research leaders with entrepreneurial skills in new bioindustrial areas.

This Special Issue aims to collect both original research and review articles regarding applications of experimental or methodological and theoretical approaches in revealing the BioScience and BioTechnology:

• Environmental BioTechnology;
• Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmacology;
• Bioenergy, Biofuels and Biochemicals;
• Instrumentation, Sensors, and Measurement;
• Computational Biology, including bioinformatics, algorithms, and molecular modeling, etc.;
• Environmental Microbiology and Microbial Ecology;
• Genetic Engineering and Synthetic Biology;
• Bioengineering, Micro- and Nanotechnology.
